Female forex trader takes home top prize

Maria

Whilst women may not represent the largest group in the global forex trading scene, they seem to be much more successful than their male counterparts. Maria is proof that women are power traders, recently winning the easy-forex World Trade Series 2014 competition.

This is not the first time that trading-savvy women have caught the world’s attention with Japan adopting the label of ‘forex divas’ for their highly successful female traders.

Author, columnist and sales psychologist Gary Belsky has also written about the success of women and explains women are better at saying no and sticking to a strategy. He also suggests women are more cool-headed in a crisis and less stubborn than men, who hate to be wrong – traits that are important for forex trading success.

Australia is now following suit and can acknowledge the success of female forex traders.

At 54 years of age, Maria also competed head-to-head with her husband in the easy-forex World Trading Series 2014 competition to finish on top; scoring $10,000 cash and more importantly, bragging rights over her husband.

Originally trading with her husband, Maria ventured solo in 2008 to begin forex trading as a hobby.

“I’m self-employed and forex trading is just a hobby and not my main source of income. I really enjoy identifying opportunities in the marketplace and joining in on the action,” Maria said.

When asked about her formula for success, Maria stated: “I regularly consulted with my personal dealer Mili regarding the market, to make sure I was in line with market expectations and that I was implementing the best strategy to optimise my score. We discussed the most important data releases and developed a strategy together.

“I enjoy trading with easy-forex because it has an easy-to-use platform, excellent 24/7 customer service and trading conditions, excellent dealing room and great guidance and support. The personalised training is a great asset.”

easy-forex dealer Milica (Mili) Nikolic is thrilled one of her female clients won the big prize and believes it is indicative of the success female traders are having online.

“When Maria heard about our competition she decided to give it a go as well and compete against her husband. She got tips from her husband and market updates from me in the dealing room to inform her on her trades.

“Maria stuck to trading the Aussie dollar as it is a currency pair whose movements she understood. She also took time to familiarise herself with the rules of the competition so as to maximise her chances,” Mili said.

Women in part-time employment or shift work seem to gravitate to forex trading, spending time on research resulting in trading becoming a nice supplement to their income.

Regardless of the recent success of female traders, less than ten percent of easy-forex Australia’s traders are women. However, it is a growing demographic with the percentage of easy-forex female traders worldwide growing from nine to 19 percent in only two years.

With more and more women entering the forex market and making big money in this male-dominated environment, they are proving to be ‘on the money’ where it counts – trading successfully.
