“Choice” in emails will boost sales

How do marketers make sure their email is read and not treated as spam?

A new study from marketing technology company Experian Marketing Services has found that marketers will get results by putting the words “choice” or “choose” in the subject line.

So an email that says something like “Final offer: choose your deal” would generate 22 per cent more revenue per email than average and 46 per cent  higher transaction rates.

Those words are important because they tell the consumer they are in control and they have options to choose from.

Experian also found that there was a 20 per cent above average open rate for emails that had the customer’s first name in the subject line.
