Kogan.com moves into health insurance

Online retailer Kogan.com has signed a three year partnership with Medibank Group brand ahm  that will see it offering budget health insurance under the Kogan Health brand.

This comes months after Kogan announced it was expanding into mobile broadband, using Vodafone’s 4G network. That’s in addition to Kogan Insurance and Kogan Travel.

Kogan Health will be launched in the first half of 2018.

David Shafer, Executive Director of Kogan.com said the partnership with Medibank would deliver more affordable health insurance.

“Having more than 8 million Aussies as active members of the Kogan community enables us to form strong commercial partnerships like this, which result in a win-win-win for Medibank,

Kogan’s shareholders and, most importantly, Kogan’s customers,” Mr Shafer said.

Medibank Group Executive, Chief Customer Officer David Koczkar said the two companies made a good combination.

“Kogan.com has been very good at creating a sharp, low-fuss online experience for value-conscious customers.” Mr Koczkar said.

“And our ahm brand has also been growing rapidly and getting an enthusiastic response from customers who just want things to be simple, affordable, and on their terms.

“So this partnership is a great match and we’ll be able to do something different and attractive for Kogan Health customers.”
